Cookie Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026. This Cookie Policy explains how Dreaming of Paris uses cookies and similar technologies, which optional services may be loaded, and how visitors can manage their choices.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small pieces of data stored by a website or service on a visitor’s device. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels and other identifiers used to provide functionality, remember settings or measure how a website is used.
Essential storage
Essential storage is used only where needed for basic site functions and security. Dreaming of Paris also stores a first-party consent preference named dop_consent_v1 so the site can remember whether optional analytics and marketing services may load. This preference is currently retained for up to 180 days.
Analytics
If the visitor allows analytics, the site may enable Jetpack Stats to measure visits and general site usage. If analytics consent is not granted, the Dreaming of Paris consent manager removes the Jetpack Stats module from the public request.
Marketing and third-party widgets
Some articles include optional travel widgets provided by GetYourGuide. The GetYourGuide widget loader is treated as an optional marketing/third-party service and is blocked until the visitor allows that category.
The site also contains ordinary affiliate links to travel services. A normal link does not by itself load the destination website inside Dreaming of Paris; if a visitor follows an affiliate link, the destination website may use its own cookies and tracking technologies under its own privacy and cookie policies.
Google Consent Mode signals
The site sets Google Consent Mode signals to denied by default for analytics and advertising-related storage. Where relevant Google tags are present, those signals are updated only after the visitor saves a corresponding consent choice.
How to change your choices
Visitors can use the Privacy choices control displayed on the site to reopen the consent panel at any time. Available choices include accepting all optional services, rejecting non-essential services, or enabling analytics and marketing separately.
Third-party policies
- Jetpack / Automattic: consult the provider’s privacy information for details about its services and data practices.
- GetYourGuide: consult GetYourGuide’s privacy and cookie information for details about data processed when its widgets or website are used.
Changes to this policy
This policy should be reviewed whenever the site’s analytics, advertising, embedded-content or affiliate technology changes. The services listed here describe the configuration identified for Dreaming of Paris at the date shown above.
